Mauricio Apablaza
Researcher Mauricio Apablaza was interviewed by the newspaper El Mercurio regarding the public policy on mandatory retirement for public sector workers at age 75. Regarding this, Dr. Apablaza stated: “It represents progress in recognizing that chronological age alone does not determine a person’s capacity. However, it is a limited correction, as it does not address the underlying problem and instead circumvents it through exceptions. Instead of eliminating an arbitrary rule, the regulation reserves the right to continue working for a specific group.”
